350 Ranch
After years of perfecting his Black Angus beef herd genetics, Farmer Jim began sharing his beef cut samples with family and friends through 350 Ranch. 350 Ranch is now selling Sonoma County raised grass fed beef with grain finish to the public. This is a wonderful way to support local farms, sustainable beef raising practices, while tasting some of the best beef ever. Farmer Jim is a 4th generation Petaluma farmer best known for his A'Mazing Corn Mazes and perfect pumpkins alongside Highway 101 in Northern Petaluma at the Petaluma Pumpkin Patch.
Local Grain Finished Grass Fed Beef
Now "Rancher" Jim is offering his Sonoma County grain-finished beef to the public. Jim has the meat hung for an extended period and the packages are vacuumed sealed, versus butcher wrapped, to prolong the freezer life and buttery juicy tenderness. The cattle are raised by the Groverman Family on the 350 Ranch. Delicious quarter, half, and whole animals can be ordered.
Processing is done via Willowside Meats in Santa Rosa. Willowside Meats will contact you directly for the exact pickup date. Orders are usually ready for your freezer in September. Processing includes the cutting, wrapping, and vacuum sealing of your meat order.
Local Grain Finished Grass Fed Beef Pricing
Pricing is done on the animal's carcass weight, hanging weight. So, this calculation varies per individual animal. An entire steer may weigh around 1200 pounds. Then the carcass would weigh approximately 720 pounds or 60% of live weight. That would yield approximately 450 pounds of meat to enjoy or would yield around 8 banana boxes, for this example. Your cost is based on carcass weight.

Fabulous Texture & Flavor
Our Angus beef is grass-fed and grain-finished meaning they were pastured raised and then fed grain for the last few months before harvest. Our animals are not in a commercial-style feed-lot situation but instead able to forage in a natural pasture setting and also offered grain. This feeding program ensures fabulous texture flavor of our finished beef. We believe the animal's overall living conditions, when they are better create healthier results.
"Farmer" Jim's Sonoma County Farm Lineage
"Farmer" Jim holds his bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He started raising cattle on the ranch he grew up on at a very young age. At age 9 he bought his first dairy heifer which started his first 4-H dairy project. He has worked on several dairy and beef operations while building his farming and ranching business.
He has taken those experiences and along with his wife has created a comprehensive multi-level ranch operation. His animals benefit from his farming knowledge of removing invasive plants, restoration of ecosystems, and monitoring water and forage quality. He believes that if he takes care of the land, it will take care of him.
Our 5th Generation Sonoma County Farmer
Now Jim's daughter a 5th generation Sonoma County farmer is starting her own herd of Angus cattle. She shows her cattle, chickens, and horses at local shows and is very involved in Sonoma County 4H. She's continuing an over 100 year tradition in the Groverman family with raising her own herd of grass fed and grain finished Angus cattle.
We hope you enjoy our meats as much as we do! Happy Grilling. You may fill out the form below if you are interested in more information or if you wish to order.
